Surgical Strike: General Recounts 2016 Operation

Lieutenant General Rajendra Ramrao Nimhorkar (Retd) has recalled the 2016 surgical strike, where Indian soldiers crossed the LoC to attack terror launch pads. The operation on the night of -29, 2016, was a retaliation for the Uri terror attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers. General Nimhorkar highlighted the 'firm resolve' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in making the mission a reality.

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राजेंद्र रामराव निमहोर्कर (सेवानिवृत्त) ने 2016 के सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक को याद किया है, जिसमें भारतीय सैनिकों ने आतंकी लॉन्च पैड पर हमला करने के लिए LoC पार की थी। 29 सितंबर 2016 की रात को हुए इस ऑपरेशन का मकसद उरी आतंकी हमले का बदला लेना था, जिसमें 19 भारतीय सैनिक मारे गए थे। जनरल निमहोर्कर ने इस मिशन को हकीकत बनाने में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और तत्कालीन रक्षा मंत्री मनोहर पर्रिकर के 'दृढ़ संकल्प' पर जोर दिया।
