India to Announce Critical Minerals Stockpiling Policy Soon

The Indian government is set to unveil a new policy for stockpiling critical minerals essential for economic growth, green energy transition, and national security. Mines secretary Keshav Chandra stated the policy is being finalised and is expected within a month. This initiative aims to ensure supplies for strategic sectors like defence, aerospace, and energy. Additionally, the government is developing four dedicated critical minerals processing parks across Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, and Maharashtra to process imported raw materials. The policy also emphasizes accelerating exploration and promoting recycling.

भारतीय सरकार आर्थिक विकास, हरित ऊर्जा परिवर्तन और राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के लिए आवश्यक महत्वपूर्ण खनिजों के भंडारण के लिए एक नई नीति का अनावरण करने के लिए तैयार है। खान सचिव केशव चंद्रा ने कहा कि नीति को अंतिम रूप दिया जा रहा है और यह एक महीने के भीतर अपेक्षित है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य रक्षा, एयरोस्पेस और ऊर्जा जैसे रणनीतिक क्षेत्रों के लिए आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करना है। इसके अतिरिक्त, सरकार आयातित कच्चे माल को संसाधित करने के लिए आंध्र प्रदेश, ओडिशा, गुजरात और महाराष्ट्र में चार समर्पित महत्वपूर्ण खनिज प्रसंस्करण पार्क विकसित कर रही है। नीति में अन्वेषण में तेजी लाने और रीसाइक्लिंग को बढ़ावा देने पर भी जोर दिया गया है।
