मुंबई में उद्धव ठाकरे और राज ठाकरे ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार के खिलाफ एक संयुक्त विरोध मार्च निकाला। उन्होंने महाराष्ट्र में चुनावी रोल के संशोधन को रद्द करने की मांग की। उद्धव ठाकरे ने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार 'मेक इन इंडिया' के बहाने एक तानाशाह बना रही है और उन्होंने ऐसी तानाशाही को दफनाने की कसम खाई। शिवसेना (यूबीटी) के नेता संजय राउत ने लोकतांत्रिक संस्थाओं को कमजोर करने की कोशिशों का आरोप लगाया और इसे 'हिटलर-शासन' के खिलाफ विद्रोह बताया। ठाकरे ने चुनाव आयुक्तों की नियुक्ति प्रक्रिया पर भी सवाल उठाए और कहा कि चयन समिति से भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश को हटा दिया गया है।
