India's LNG Imports Surge 17.4% To Record High In October
Times of India - Business · business
LNG imports reached a record 2.7 million tonnes in October, marking a 17.4% increase driven by higher demand from the power and fertiliser sectors. This surge is partly due to declining domestic gas production, increasing import dependency to nearly 52%. Supplies from Qatar saw a significant rebound after disruptions, though the US remained the largest LNG supplier for the month. Crude oil imports also hit a record high, with Russia continuing as the top supplier.
