Bihar Electoral Roll Swells by 1.4 Million Voters Post-SIR Revision
Hindustan Times · politics
Bihar's electoral roll has seen a significant increase of nearly 1.4 million voters since the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) concluded last year. The current roll, updated on October 1, now lists 75.5 million voters, up from 74.1 million. Approximately 1.87 million applications were received for inclusion, with 1.4 million successfully added. This surge includes returning voters, new registrants, and young first-time voters. The increase is typical in election years, with Bihar experiencing substantial voter additions in recent years due to Lok Sabha and assembly polls.
