Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the central government of designing the delimitation bill as a punitive measure against Tamil Nadu, aiming to reduce its voice in Parliament. Speaking at a youth outreach program in Chennai, he asserted that this move constitutes an attack on Tamil language, history, and culture. Gandhi also criticized the imposition of the three-language formula through the New Education Policy. His remarks come amid shifting political alliances in the state and follow his meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.

कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने केंद्र सरकार पर आरोप लगाया है कि परिसीमन विधेयक को तमिलनाडु के खिलाफ़ सज़ा के तौर पर तैयार किया गया है, जिसका मकसद संसद में उसकी आवाज़ कम करना है। चेन्नई में एक युवा संपर्क कार्यक्रम में बोलते हुए, उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि यह कदम तमिल भाषा, इतिहास और संस्कृति पर हमला है। गांधी ने नई शिक्षा नीति के ज़रिए तीन-भाषा फ़ॉर्मूले को थोपने की भी आलोचना की। उनके बयान ऐसे समय आए हैं जब राज्य में राजनीतिक गठबंधन बदल रहे हैं और यह उनकी तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री सी जोसेफ विजय से मुलाक़ात के बाद आया है।
