IBM shares dropped significantly in premarket trading after analysts questioned the sustainability of its third-quarter software rebound. They noted that approximately $250 million of the software growth was due to deals delayed from the previous quarter. Without these delayed deals, the improvement was more modest. IBM now forecasts annual software revenue growth of 7% to 8%, but its overall revenue growth forecast remains unchanged. The company's CEO also expects a more normalized performance in its transaction processing unit going into next year.
