महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फड़णवीस ने राहुल गांधी के "वोट चोरी" के आरोपों के खिलाफ SIR प्रक्रिया का बचाव किया है। फड़णवीस ने कहा कि राजनीतिक दल मतदाता सूचियों की जांच करने और किसी भी त्रुटि या विसंगति को चिह्नित करने के लिए बूथ लेवल एजेंट नियुक्त कर सकते हैं। उन्होंने विपक्ष पर चुनाव आयोग जैसी संवैधानिक संस्थाओं में जनता के विश्वास को कम करने की कोशिश करने का आरोप लगाया। फड़णवीस ने पश्चिम बंगाल में तृणमूल कांग्रेस द्वारा पुनरीक्षण के दौरान नाम हटाए जाने के बावजूद सीटें जीतने का हवाला देते हुए आरोपों के खिलाफ सबूत पेश किया।
