Saharanpur, a historic commercial centre in western Uttar Pradesh, is undergoing a significant transformation into a modern city. Since 2017, the city has seen substantial upgrades in urban infrastructure, technology-enabled civic management, and public amenities. As of March 1, 2026, 113 out of 115 Smart City projects worth Rs 1,292 crore were completed. These initiatives include an Integrated Command and Control Centre, smart roads, and improved traffic management systems. The focus has shifted from conventional development to data-driven city management, enhancing both traditional industries and urban living.
