टीडीपी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष पल्ला श्रीनिवास राव ने घोषणा की कि एनडीए गठबंधन के साथी आगामी स्थानीय निकाय चुनावों में पिछड़ा वर्ग (बीसी) के लिए 34% आरक्षण देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि हाई कोर्ट के एक फैसले से निराशा हाथ लगने के बाद दो से तीन दिनों के भीतर बीसी कोटे पर तस्वीर साफ होने की उम्मीद है। राव ने बीसी आरक्षण पर दोहरा मापदंड अपनाने के लिए वाईएसआर कांग्रेस पार्टी पर आरोप लगाया, जबकि टीडीपी सभी कानूनी रास्ते अपना रही है। पार्टी स्थानीय समझ और जुड़ाव वाले मजबूत उम्मीदवार उतारेगी।
