Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has directed electricity distribution companies to involve gram pradhans in recovering pending dues from rural consumers. This initiative aims to foster coordinated efforts at the village level to improve the collection of outstanding electricity bills. Officials will identify top defaulters, verify bills, issue notices, and initiate disconnection proceedings. The UPPCL chairman also emphasized accountability for revenue collection, reducing line losses, and enhancing consumer services, with specific focus on improving billing accuracy and addressing high-loss feeders.
