MP K C Venugopal Urges Railways to Drop Alpy Depot Demolition Plan

Alappuzha MP K C Venugopal has written to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging him to halt the proposed demolition of the Alappuzha coaching maintenance depot and pit line. Venugopal also protested the plan to extend the Dhanbad-Alappuzha Express to Thiruvananthapuram, arguing it would harm railway development in Alappuzha. He suggested extending the Tatanagar Express instead and called for modifying the engineering layout to build a new pit line within the Alappuzha yard. The MP also requested sanction for new train services originating from Alappuzha due to rising passenger demand.

अलाप्पुझा के MP के सी वेणुगोपाल ने केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव को पत्र लिखकर अलाप्पुझा कोचिंग मेंटेनेंस डिपो और पिट लाइन को गिराने की प्रस्तावित योजना को रोकने की अपील की है। वेणुगोपाल ने धनबाद-अलाप्पुझा एक्सप्रेस को तिरुवनंतपुरम तक बढ़ाने की योजना का भी विरोध किया, यह तर्क देते हुए कि इससे अलाप्पुझा में रेलवे के विकास को नुकसान होगा। उन्होंने इसके बजाय टाटा नगर एक्सप्रेस को बढ़ाने का सुझाव दिया और अलाप्पुझा यार्ड के भीतर एक नई पिट लाइन बनाने के लिए इंजीनियरिंग लेआउट को संशोधित करने का आह्वान किया। MP ने यात्री मांग में वृद्धि के कारण अलाप्पुझा से शुरू होने वाली नई ट्रेन सेवाओं के लिए मंजूरी का भी अनुरोध किया।
