IndiGo to operate 14 A321 XLR planes by end of 2027, says CEO

IndiGo plans to expand its international operations by increasing its fleet of narrow-body A321 XLR aircraft to 14 by the end of December 2027. The airline currently operates four such planes and expects to add one more by year-end. These longer-range aircraft will enable IndiGo to connect more overseas destinations. CEO Willie Walsh also confirmed the airline will begin receiving A350-900 aircraft from the second quarter of 2028, while maintaining focus on its efficient short-haul operations. IndiGo aims to have a fleet of 600 aircraft by 2030.

इंडिगो अपनी फ्लीट में A321 XLR विमानों की संख्या दिसंबर 2027 तक बढ़ाकर 14 करने की योजना बना रही है। एयरलाइन अभी ऐसे चार विमान चलाती है और साल के अंत तक एक और जोड़ने की उम्मीद है। ये लंबी दूरी के विमान इंडिगो को अधिक विदेशी जगहों से जुड़ने में सक्षम बनाएंगे। सीईओ विली वाल्श ने यह भी पुष्टि की कि एयरलाइन 2028 की दूसरी तिमाही से A350-900 विमानों को प्राप्त करना शुरू कर देगी, साथ ही अपने कुशल शॉर्ट-हॉल ऑपरेशंस पर ध्यान केंद्रित रखेगी। इंडिगो का लक्ष्य 2030 तक 600 विमानों का बेड़ा रखना है।
