Andaman IFS officer Sandeep Divyajyoti Behera initiated 'Gun Choro, Camera Pakado' to transform bird hunters into birdwatchers through workshops and citizen-science initiatives. This program aimed to change people's relationship with birds, fostering conservation. Simultaneously, Mission 1 Lakh was launched to tackle marine waste, successfully removing over 1.19 lakh kg of litter from beaches. The initiative also highlighted the global nature of plastic pollution, with significant waste originating from abroad. These efforts underscore the importance of community partnership in conservation.
