US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has approved the public execution of former Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who killed 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting. The execution is scheduled for, at 1 PM CST at the same Texas military base where the attack occurred. Hegseth stated the execution will be public so people understand the consequences of such crimes. Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, was sentenced to death in 2013 for the attack, which also injured 32 others.
