The redevelopment of Kollam railway station is now slated for completion by December 2027, with significant infrastructure upgrades planned. The station will feature an advanced Building Management System, modelled on international airports, to regulate services based on crowd density. Platform roof areas will expand substantially, and granite paving will replace existing surfaces. The south terminal building is being rebuilt to a much larger size, with half allocated for commercial leasing.

कोल्लम रेलवे स्टेशन का रीडेवलपमेंट अब दिसंबर 2027 तक पूरा होने की उम्मीद है। यहाँ कई बड़े इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर अपग्रेड होंगे। स्टेशन में एक एडवांस्ड बिल्डिंग मैनेजमेंट सिस्टम लगेगा, जो इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट की तरह भीड़ के हिसाब से सेवाओं को मैनेज करेगा। प्लेटफॉर्म की छतें बड़ी होंगी और ग्रेनाइट से फर्श बनेगा। साउथ टर्मिनल बिल्डिंग को बड़ा बनाया जा रहा है, जिसका आधा हिस्सा कमर्शियल लीजिंग के लिए होगा।
