BJD coordinator Lenin Mohanty presented an audio recording allegedly featuring a university professor discussing confidential student records and the chief minister's desire for ABVP's victory. The BJD demanded a high-level probe, suspension of the professor, and investigation into the alleged misuse of money and student data. The BJP has dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating they have no role in the elections, which they claim are managed by ABVP.

बीजेडी ने सत्तारूढ़ बीजेपी पर राजनीतिक और प्रशासनिक दखलंदाजी के जरिए ओडिशा के आगामी छात्र संघ चुनावों को प्रभावित करने की कोशिश करने का आरोप लगाया है। बीजेडी समन्वयक लेनिन मोहंती ने एक ऑडियो रिकॉर्डिंग पेश की, जिसमें कथित तौर पर एक विश्वविद्यालय के प्रोफेसर गोपनीय छात्र रिकॉर्ड और एबीवीपी की जीत के लिए मुख्यमंत्री की इच्छा पर चर्चा कर रहे थे। बीजेडी ने उच्च-स्तरीय जांच, प्रोफेसर के निलंबन और पैसे और छात्र डेटा के कथित दुरुपयोग की जांच की मांग की। बीजेपी ने आरोपों को निराधार बताकर खारिज कर दिया है, यह कहते हुए कि चुनावों में उनकी कोई भूमिका नहीं है, जिन्हें वे एबीवीपी द्वारा प्रबंधित होने का दावा करते हैं।
