Donald Trump told supporters at a rally that if they only have $5,000, they shouldn't visit his Mar-a-Lago resort, as it might not even buy a hamburger. He made the remark while discussing his promise to give every American adult $5,000 if Republicans retain control of Congress. The crowd in Corpus Christi, Texas, reportedly laughed and applauded his comment. Critics argue the proposal is an attempt to buy votes, with the total cost estimated at $1.3 trillion.
