A Judicial Magistrate court in Angamaly has rejected a plea to transfer Suhail Sajeev, the 19-year-old prime accused in the Nedumbassery drunk-driving case, from the Borstal School to Viyyur Central jail. Authorities had cited security concerns, but the court found no specific evidence of threats to the accused at the Borstal facility. Sajeev himself had not raised any safety concerns. The accident, which occurred on October 11, 2026, claimed three lives when a speeding car allegedly driven by Sajeev hit a scooter.
