Cochin Shipyard Plans ₹6,000 Crore Expansion Projects in Kerala and Tamil Nadu

Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) is planning significant expansion with an investment of approximately ₹4,000 crore for a steel block fabrication facility in Vallarpadam, Kochi. This facility will support the construction of larger vessels. Additionally, CSL is exploring a separate investment of around ₹2,000 crore at V O Chidambaranar Port in Thoothukudi to enhance shipbuilding and repair capacities. These projects aim to meet growing demand, including over 40 ship orders from foreign countries like Germany, America, and Norway. The company's current order book stands at ₹22,300 crore.
