Odisha Smart Meter Billing Errors Resolved

Odisha's deputy chief minister and energy minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo informed the state assembly that 1,499 complaints regarding erroneous billing from smart prepaid meters were received over the past two years. All these grievances, which pertained to alleged inflated or incorrect charges, have been resolved by the distribution companies. The minister confirmed that smart meter installation is ongoing across the state, with Khurda district leading in deployment. Despite consumer concerns, the government stated that all reported billing issues have been addressed.
