No UPI Transaction Charge For Users, Small Merchants

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has clarified that users and small merchants will not face any transaction charges on UPI payments. This assurance comes amidst discussions sparked by an amendment to Section 10A of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007. The government aims to promote digital payments, ensuring accessibility for everyday transactions and supporting small businesses by maintaining the current fee-free structure for UPI.

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने साफ कर दिया है कि UPI पेमेंट पर यूज़र्स और छोटे व्यापारियों को कोई ट्रांज़ैक्शन चार्ज नहीं देना होगा। यह बात पेमेंट एंड सेटलमेंट सिस्टम्स एक्ट, 2007 की धारा 10A में हुए एक बदलाव के बाद आई है। सरकार डिजिटल पेमेंट्स को बढ़ावा देना चाहती है, ताकि रोज़मर्रा के लेन-देन आसान रहें और छोटे बिज़नेस को भी मदद मिले। इसलिए, UPI पर अभी की तरह कोई फीस नहीं लगेगी।
