Former Calcutta High Court Justice Indrajit Chatterjee, who also serves as the in-charge of the Murshidabad district's Appellate Tribunal, has requested to be relieved from his duties. He cited the arduous daily commute of 3-4 hours due to heavy traffic jams between his Salt Lake residence and the Joka office as the reason. Justice Chatterjee stated that this long journey is now beyond his physical capacity. He has offered to continue working remotely if a 'work-from-home' arrangement can be facilitated by the authorities.
