Discarded Goodyear racing tyres have been transformed into a 17-foot-tall sculpture titled 'Transit' at Lock 3 park in Akron, Ohio. Internationally acclaimed sculptor Chakaia Booker unveiled the artwork on October 29, 2026, repurposing automotive waste into a public landmark. The sculpture, made from donated racing tyres and stainless steel, features two crescent-shaped structures covered in rubber pieces.
