सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट के मुख्य न्यायाधीश को 2021 के लखीमपुर खीरी हिंसा मामले के पीठासीन अधिकारी के खिलाफ लगे आरोपों पर तुरंत कार्रवाई करने का निर्देश दिया है। जज पर खुद को मामले सौंपने और आरोपियों को बरी करने का आरोप है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार से मुकदमे के लिए तुरंत एक नया लोक अभियोजक नियुक्त करने का भी आग्रह किया। ये निर्देश पीड़ितों के वकीलों द्वारा पीठासीन अधिकारी के आचरण के संबंध में प्रस्तुतियाँ देने के बाद आए हैं। अदालत इस मामले पर एक रिपोर्ट का इंतजार कर रही है।
