Congress Demands Caste Census, Accuses BJP of Evasion

The Congress party has submitted a memorandum to the President of India via the Haryana governor, demanding a comprehensive caste census. Led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a delegation met the governor, alleging that the current census lacks a mechanism to record caste identities. Hooda stated that a caste census is crucial for fair representation in policies and welfare schemes. He accused the BJP-led Centre of deception, claiming the census format omits a caste column and called for a unique scientific caste code to ensure accurate enumeration and avoid discrepancies.

कांग्रेस पार्टी ने भारत की राष्ट्रपति को हरियाणा के राज्यपाल के माध्यम से एक ज्ञापन सौंपा है, जिसमें व्यापक जातिगत जनगणना की मांग की गई है। भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा के नेतृत्व में एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने राज्यपाल से मुलाकात की और आरोप लगाया कि वर्तमान जनगणना में जाति की पहचान दर्ज करने का कोई तंत्र नहीं है। हुड्डा ने कहा कि नीतियों और कल्याणकारी योजनाओं में निष्पक्ष प्रतिनिधित्व के लिए जातिगत जनगणना महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने भाजपा के नेतृत्व वाली केंद्र सरकार पर धोखेबाजी का आरोप लगाया, दावा किया कि जनगणना प्रारूप में जाति कॉलम को छोड़ दिया गया है और सटीक गणना सुनिश्चित करने और विसंगतियों से बचने के लिए एक अद्वितीय वैज्ञानिक जाति कोड की मांग की।
