Mysuru Journalists Protest Police Restrictions During Jamboo Savari Coverage

Journalists in Mysuru staged a protest inside the palace on Vijayadashami, alleging that police restrictions prevented them from covering the Jamboo Savari event. They were initially stopped near the Brahmapuri entrance and later again before reaching the North Gate, despite possessing official duty passes. Deputy Commissioner of Police Harsha Priyamvad intervened to facilitate their passage. Legislator K. Shivakumar condemned the obstruction, highlighting inadequate arrangements for media coverage during the Dasara celebrations. The Mysuru District Journalists’ Association also condemned the police conduct and sought disciplinary action.
