Scientists have discovered a colossal cloud of gas and dust near the center of our Milky Way galaxy, containing various alcohol molecules. Among these is propanol, identified as the largest alcohol molecule ever found in space. This cloud, located in the Sagittarius B2 molecular cloud region approximately 26,000 light-years from Earth, also contains methanol and ethanol in vast quantities. The discovery is significant as it aids in understanding the formation of complex organic compounds essential for life in the universe.
