CJP Leaders Detained Ahead of Delhi Protest Over Election Rolls

Hours before a planned Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) demonstration, police detained leaders and supporters across Delhi and beyond. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and others were detained upon arrival at Delhi's airport, while activists and lawyers marching towards the protest venue were also stopped. Over 1,100 individuals were detained preventively across Delhi, including over 400 Students' Federation of India members. The protest aimed to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in electoral roll revisions. Police had denied permission for the gathering.
