The UIDAI has introduced a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) feature in the new Aadhaar app to address issues with SMS OTP delivery. This 8-digit code generates every 30 seconds directly within the app, eliminating the need for internet or mobile network access to receive it. Users can generate TOTP by logging into the Aadhaar app, navigating to the Security section, and selecting 'Generate TOTP'.
