Iowa Book Centennial Edition Showcases New Art

Ruth Suckow's 1926 short story collection, Iowa Interiors, is being re-released in a centennial edition by Final Thursday Press. The new volume features 14 scratchboard illustrations by Iowa artist Claudia McGehee, one for each story. The Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls is hosting an exhibition of McGehee's original artwork from September 10 to December 6. This initiative aims to reintroduce Suckow's influential portrayals of early 20th-century Iowa life to contemporary readers.
