Supreme Court Seeks UP Govt Action Report on Fatal Greater Noida Bus Fire

The Supreme Court has directed the Uttar Pradesh government to submit an affidavit detailing actions taken against the driver and owner of a sleeper bus that caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway, killing nine passengers. The court wants to know if those responsible have been arrested and if the bus met safety regulations. Justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan also asked the UP chief secretary and Union government officials to respond to an application seeking a probe and preventive measures.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार को एक हलफनामा दाखिल करने का निर्देश दिया है जिसमें यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे पर आग लगने वाली स्लीपर बस के ड्राइवर और मालिक के खिलाफ की गई कार्रवाई का विवरण हो, जिसमें नौ यात्रियों की मौत हो गई थी। अदालत जानना चाहती है कि क्या जिम्मेदार लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है और क्या बस सुरक्षा नियमों का पालन करती थी। जस्टिस जेबी पारदीवाला और केवी विश्वनाथन ने यूपी के मुख्य सचिव और केंद्र सरकार के अधिकारियों से भी एक आवेदन पर जवाब मांगा है जिसमें जांच और निवारक उपायों की मांग की गई है।
