Keralam private bus operators have called off their indefinite hunger strike after reaching an agreement with Transport Minister C.P. John. The government has agreed to wet-lease private buses for KSRTC services to address the crisis in the private bus sector. Additionally, the government will explore according 'industry status' to the private bus transport sector and implement recommendations from the Padmakumar Commission. Technical hurdles for transferring service operations will also be removed, and a permanent committee will be formed to address operator concerns.
