India Cuts Edible Oil Import Duties To Lower

The Indian government has reduced basic customs duties on crude and refined edible oils, including palm, soybean, and sunflower, effective September 24. This move aims to decrease import costs and alleviate domestic price pressures, potentially curbing food inflation. Duties on crude soybean and palm oils are now 5%, while refined versions face a 27.5% duty. Sunflower oil imports will see duties reduced to 22.5% for refined and eliminated for crude.

सरकार ने 24 सितंबर से पाम, सोयाबीन और सूरजमुखी सहित कच्चे और रिफाइंड खाद्य तेलों पर बेसिक कस्टम ड्यूटी कम कर दी है। इससे आयात सस्ता होगा और महंगाई कम होने की उम्मीद है। कच्चे सोयाबीन और पाम तेल पर अब 5% ड्यूटी लगेगी, जबकि रिफाइंड पर 27.5%। सूरजमुखी तेल पर भी ड्यूटी घटाई गई है।
