Chhattisgarh HC Directs Authorities To Fix Bad Roads Without Court Orders

The Chhattisgarh High Court has expressed its displeasure over government departments and civic bodies acting on poor road conditions only after court intervention. A division bench urged authorities to realize their responsibilities and take timely action independently. Various agencies, including the Bilaspur Municipal Corporation and NHAI, submitted compliance affidavits regarding ongoing and planned repair works. The court warned that failure to adhere to submitted timelines would lead to legal measures against responsible officers.

छत्तीसगढ़ हाई कोर्ट ने सरकारी विभागों और नागरिक निकायों द्वारा खराब सड़कों की स्थिति पर केवल अदालत के हस्तक्षेप के बाद कार्रवाई करने पर अपनी नाराजगी व्यक्त की है। एक डिवीजन बेंच ने अधिकारियों से अपनी जिम्मेदारियों को समझने और समय पर स्वतंत्र रूप से कार्रवाई करने का आग्रह किया। बिलासपुर नगर निगम और NHAI सहित विभिन्न एजेंसियों ने चल रहे और नियोजित मरम्मत कार्यों के संबंध में अनुपालन हलफनामे जमा किए। अदालत ने चेतावनी दी कि प्रस्तुत समय-सीमा का पालन करने में विफलता के परिणामस्वरूप जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
