Jackson police Detective Samuel Dukes stated that Tasia Fortune's death, found hung in a tree, was a staged scene. Dukes testified that Fortune, 29, was involved in a drug-related conflict and struggled intensely before her death. The medical examiner's assessment supported the conclusion that the hanging was fabricated, with her mother reporting the examiner said she was dead before being placed in the tree. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, including Eric Clark, who has been charged with murder.
