A 26-year-old Indian Army soldier, Aakash Chauhan, was tragically killed by a gaur (Indian Bison) while sitting on the sidelines of a football ground in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh. Chauhan, who had joined the Army through the sports quota due to his passion for football, was part of the 17 Kumaon regiment. The incident occurred near the Army Education Corps Training College and Centre, located within the Satpura Tiger Reserve buffer zone. The Madhya Pradesh forest department has provided Rs 8 lakh compensation to his grieving parents.
