सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने भारत के चुनाव आयोग द्वारा कथित एकतरफा फैसलों को लेकर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त को निलंबित करने की मांग करने वाली याचिका पर नोटिस जारी किया है। जस्टिस ने कहा कि फॉर्म 6, मतदाता पंजीकरण आवेदन में कोई भी बदलाव अदालत द्वारा अनुमोदित नहीं है। पीठ ने जोर देकर कहा कि चुनाव आयोग को सर्वसम्मति से या बहुमत से निर्णय लेने होंगे, और चेतावनी दी कि एकतरफा कार्रवाई रद्द की जा सकती है। यह उन रिपोर्टों के बीच आया है जिनमें दो चुनाव आयुक्तों ने उनकी जानकारी के बिना लिए गए फैसलों पर आपत्ति जताई थी।
