Bangladesh's State Minister for Liberation War Affairs, Ishraque Hossain, led an operation against a suspected drug den near Gendaria Railway Station, armed with a pistol and a megaphone. During the incident, bodyguards were seen manhandling individuals, and Hossain assured detainees that police would arrive. While Hossain claimed police were informed, Dhaka Metropolitan Police stated they were unaware of the raid beforehand.
