A fast-spreading wildfire, dubbed the Norte Fire, has engulfed several coastal properties in Orange County, Southern California, forcing widespread evacuation orders. The blaze scorched approximately 231 hectares (570 acres) by Friday evening, with at least six homes damaged or destroyed in the San Juan Capistrano area. Unseasonably high temperatures and low humidity, exacerbated by Santa Ana winds, are fueling the fire's rapid growth. Around 6,000 homes and 16,000 residents were under evacuation orders, with shelters opened as helicopters worked to contain the flames.
