Tamil Nadu CM Urges Centre to Secure Release of 25 Fishermen Arrested by Maldives

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has written to Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, requesting his intervention to secure the release of 25 fishermen from Thoothukudi. The fishermen, along with their three mechanised boats, were apprehended by the Maldives Coast Guard on October 13. The Chief Minister urged the External Affairs Minister to take up the matter with the Maldivian government through diplomatic channels. He requested facilitation for the early release and safe repatriation of the fishermen and their boats.

तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री सी. जोसेफ विजय ने केंद्रीय विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर को पत्र लिखकर तूतीकोरिन के 25 मछुआरों की रिहाई सुनिश्चित करने के लिए उनके हस्तक्षेप का अनुरोध किया है। मछुआरों को उनके तीन मशीनीकृत नावों के साथ 13 अक्टूबर को मालदीव के तटरक्षक बल ने पकड़ा था। मुख्यमंत्री ने विदेश मंत्री से राजनयिक माध्यमों से मालदीव सरकार के साथ इस मामले को उठाने का आग्रह किया। उन्होंने मछुआरों और उनकी नावों की शीघ्र रिहाई और सुरक्षित वापसी की सुविधा प्रदान करने का अनुरोध किया।
