Odisha Farmers Face More Misery With Fresh Rain Warning After Cyclone

Farmers in Ganjam and Gajapati districts of Odisha are bracing for further losses as the IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall due to a fresh cyclonic storm. This comes after Cyclone Arnab already caused significant damage. Standing paddy crops, currently in their crucial milking stage, are at high risk of being destroyed. A previous deep depression in late September resulted in a 33% crop loss across over 3.402 hectares. The agriculture department has deployed additional officers to aid in damage assessment and restoration efforts once the weather clears.
