G20 finance ministers and central bank governors are meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday. The gathering coincides with the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Discussions are expected to be dominated by the economic fallout from the US-Israel war on Iran. Attacks across the Middle East have disrupted economic activity and shipping, leading to a surge in global energy prices. The G20 countries represent approximately 85 percent of global GDP and three-quarters of global trade.
