MP Urges CM to Propose Trichy for Centre's University Township Scheme

Member of Parliament Durai Vaiko has requested Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay to recommend Trichy for the Central government's 'university township' scheme. Vaiko highlighted Trichy's existing educational infrastructure, including NIT, IIM, and Bharathidasan University, as ideal for the project. He submitted a representation during the CM's visit to Pudukottai district. The MP believes implementing the scheme in Trichy would significantly boost higher education and research, while also creating numerous employment opportunities in the region. Additionally, Vaiko urged the government to update the state's road safety policy from 2007.

सांसद दुराई वाइको ने तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री जोसेफ विजय से तिरुचि को केंद्र सरकार की 'यूनिवर्सिटी टाउनशिप' स्कीम के लिए अनुशंसित करने का अनुरोध किया है। वाइको ने इस प्रोजेक्ट के लिए NIT, IIM और भारतिदासन यूनिवर्सिटी सहित तिरुचि के मौजूदा शैक्षिक बुनियादी ढांचे को आदर्श बताया। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री के पुडुकोट्टई जिले के दौरे के दौरान एक ज्ञापन सौंपा। सांसद का मानना है कि तिरुचि में इस स्कीम को लागू करने से उच्च शिक्षा और अनुसंधान को काफी बढ़ावा मिलेगा, साथ ही क्षेत्र में रोजगार के कई अवसर भी पैदा होंगे। इसके अतिरिक्त, वाइको ने सरकार से 2007 की राज्य की सड़क सुरक्षा नीति को अपडेट करने का आग्रह किया।
