Air India has established a multi-disciplinary team to identify cost-saving opportunities across its operations and has tightened spending approvals. CEO and MD Tewolde Gebremariam has urged employees to adopt a culture of frugality and accountability, emphasizing that every rupee saved can be reinvested. The airline will also launch an employee initiative, 'PRABHAV – The Value Creator Award,' to reward cost-saving ideas. These measures come as the airline faces high jet fuel prices, airspace disruptions, and the impact of the conflict in West Asia.
