Housing Sales Drop 6% in 9 Major Cities

Housing sales in nine major Indian cities declined by 6% to 1.03 lakh units during the July-September quarter. This decrease, from 1.09 lakh units in the same period last year, is attributed to global economic uncertainties impacting buyer sentiment. New home supply also saw a dip to 98,165 units. While Bengaluru and Hyderabad reported sales increases, major markets like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, and Kolkata experienced significant drops. Typically, sales slow during the monsoon season, with expectations of a rebound in the December quarter due to festive demand.
