Several areas in Gurugram have experienced a blackout due to an indefinite strike by electricity employees protesting against the Haryana government's decision to grant a parallel license for power distribution to a private company. Industrial areas like Daulatabad, Kadipur, and Sector 37 have seen work halt, while residential sectors face prolonged power outages. Employees fear this move is backdoor privatisation, which will harm the state-owned distribution company. The government has assured employees it will appeal the decision in court.
