Over 500 Detained in Delhi as Protesters Gather at Jantar Mantar

Over 500 protesters, including former Delhi CM Atishi and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, were detained in Delhi on Friday. Police prevented a demonstration at Jantar Mantar against the Election Commission and chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The protest was called by student and youth organisations demanding Kumar's resignation over the handling of electoral rolls. Police denied permission for the protest and imposed restrictions on gatherings in the New Delhi district. Protesters were stopped and taken away in buses, with heavy barricading and police presence at the site.

शुक्रवार को दिल्ली में पूर्व दिल्ली सीएम आतिशी और AAP नेता सौरभ भारद्वाज सहित 500 से ज़्यादा प्रदर्शनकारियों को हिरासत में लिया गया। पुलिस ने जंतर मंतर पर चुनाव आयोग और मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन को रोका। यह विरोध छात्र और युवा संगठनों द्वारा बुलाया गया था, जो चुनावी रोल के प्रबंधन को लेकर कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रहे थे। पुलिस ने विरोध की अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया और नई दिल्ली जिले में सभाओं पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया। प्रदर्शनकारियों को रोका गया और बसों में ले जाया गया, जहाँ साइट पर भारी बैरिकेडिंग और पुलिस की मौजूदगी थी।
