Anakapalli Causeway Closure Halts Ambulances, Disrupts Connectivity After River Overflow

The Anakapalli causeway near Vijayarama Raju Peta was closed on Wednesday after the Pedderu river overflowed due to water release following cyclonic storm Arnab. This recurring closure, caused by overflowing rivers after a British-era bridge collapsed five years ago, severely impacts connectivity. Ambulance journeys from Paderu to Visakhapatnam now take nearly five hours instead of three, delaying emergency medical care. Diversions have also led to traffic congestion and increased travel times for other commuters.

चक्रवाती तूफान अर्नाब के बाद पानी छोड़े जाने से पेद्देरु नदी के उफान पर आने के कारण बुधवार को विजयारमा राजू पेठा के पास अनकापल्ली कॉजवे को बंद कर दिया गया। पांच साल पहले ब्रिटिश-युग के एक पुल के ढहने के बाद नदियों के उफान के कारण यह बार-बार होने वाला बंद संपर्क को गंभीर रूप से प्रभावित करता है। पाडेरू से विशाखापत्तनम तक एंबुलेंस यात्रा में अब तीन घंटे के बजाय लगभग पांच घंटे लगते हैं, जिससे आपातकालीन चिकित्सा देखभाल में देरी होती है। डायवर्जन के कारण अन्य यात्रियों के लिए भी यातायात जाम और यात्रा के समय में वृद्धि हुई है।
