23-Year-Old Dies by Suicide After Falling Into Online Betting and Loan App Trap

A 23-year-old man in Andhra Pradesh's Nandyal district has died by suicide after becoming entangled in online cricket betting and fraudulent loan apps. Manohar, who worked as a clerk to support his daily wage labourer parents, reportedly lost approximately ₹6 lakh in betting. To cover his losses, he borrowed heavily from fake loan apps, accumulating a significant debt. Facing harassment from recovery agents and fearing public shame, he tragically took his own life. Police have registered a case and are investigating the loan app companies and their agents.
